ost's future is very much be determined and driven by its users. So, please join us on the ost-users mailing list, and contribute your thoughts (or more) to the project.

The following is a list of miscellaneous / random ideas that seemed good at the time and would be worthwhile enhancements to ost:

A sample post script covering standard/default Solaris needs should be provided.
Support should be added for scripts running before ost applies changes to the system.
It would be interesting for ost to detect configuration conflicts from the template in order to help users avoiding making stupid mistakes. This isn't trivial because (1) configurations use regular expressions and (2) it may be hard to generalize what conflicts are (and it depends on local policies).
-ff output should probably be ordered by file rather than per template. (Relatively easy to do, but more complex than the current quick solution.)
