It looks like you are plotting over a timeframe of 30 hours --
as you are only keeping the 5min-data for 24 hours, rrdgraph has
to use the next available granularity.

Hint: Use biiig RRDs. 288 values is usually to small! (Unless you
are really concerned about disk usage :)
I usually go for the range 2000..20000 (in your case, 288 is one
day, so you could use 14*288=4032 to have the fine-grained resolution
for the last two weeks)
